Bilancio di un anno ancora difficile senza mai abbandonare la speranza

Quello che avete in mano, che iniziate a sfogliare dalla prima pagina, è l’ultimo numero di questo difficile 2021. È quindi il momento dei bilanci e dei buoni propositi in vista del nuovo anno. Purtroppo anche questo giornale lo chiudiamo mentre i numeri della pandemia non accennano a fermarsi. Anzi, negli ultimi giorni stiamo assistendo pure in Toscana a una crescita dei dati, in particolare dei contagiati, come speravamo di non vedere più.
Gli esperti, quelli veri, quelli che hanno studiato e non i ciarlatani di turno, da tempo ci vanno dicendo che il vaccino ci aiuta, ci sta consentendo di trascorrere le ormai prossime vacanze quasi nella normalità – che comunque vuol dire mascherine, disinfettanti e distanziamenti -, ma non ci mette al riparo da un virus che in questi due anni ha mostrato tutta la sua forza. Vi assicuro che anche noi vorremmo evitare di dover continuare a dedicare tanto spazio al Covid-19 e alle sue conseguenze sanitarie, economiche e sociali. Lo faremo appena sarà possibile ma non possiamo, al momento, evitare di parlarne.
Non possiamo non farlo perché troppi parlano a sproposito e tanti, non riusciamo a capire perché, ci credono. E in questo l’unico bilancio che vogliamo fare è ricordare che Toscana Oggi non ha mai fatto mancare la sua voce a favore della scienza, contro chi si oppone ai vaccini senza un perché, contro chi scrive di complotti o parla di campi di concentramento senza mai averne visitato uno.
Allora tra i buoni propositi per il 2022 voglio assicurarvi che nessuno riuscirà a zittirci e il vostro settimanale continuerà a raccontarvi i fatti e i dati scientifici come quelli economici.
Nel bilancio positivo del 2021 voglio mettere i tanti che si sono avvicinati per la prima volta al giornale e che hanno fatto l’abbonamento perché è chiaro che abbiamo bisogno del vostro sostegno per continuare raccontarvi ciò che succede nel mondo, in Italia e soprattutto nella nostra Toscana. In tanti ci scrivete - continuate a farlo - le vostre impressioni, i vostri complimenti e talvolta le vostre critiche. Anche così ci dimostrate il vostro affetto, il vostro sostegno.
Tra i buoni propositi per il nuovo anno, però, al primo posto voglio mettere la certezza di continuare a dare speranza a chi ci legge. Quella speranza che noi tutti ricaviamo dalla luce che il Natale porta in ogni casa e in ogni cuore. Anche nelle case dove proprio la pandemia magari ha causato dolore e difficoltà economiche. Anche in quei cuori che restano chiusi in se stessi, che non riescono ad aprirsi agli altri. Il Natale è luce per tutti, per chiunque sappia guardare oltre il buio dei suoi occhi chiusi. Gli auguri che vogliamo fare, perciò, è di riuscire a tenere gli occhi sempre aperti alla speranza che il Natale porta al di là di ogni difficoltà, di ogni nostro umano dubbio.
